About Zach Cox
Zach is the senior colourist and owner of Built by Light, as well as founding partner at Victory Social Club, an interdisciplinary studio in downtown Toronto. Whether collaborating with an Oscar winner or a curious student, he is at home exploring how new techniques and technologies influence on visual storytelling. His film work has been showcased at prestigious festivals such as TIFF, Cannes, Sundance, SXSW, and numerous others. His broadcast credits span a wide range of domestic networks, including CBC, Crave, CTV, Netflix, TVO, and YTV.
In addition to his work as a colourist, Zach is an award winning instructor who has taught numerous courses in the prestigious RTA School of Media at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). His academic pursuits encompass colour's narrative and metatextual functions, as well as innovative pedagogical and andragogical approaches that inspire lifelong learners.
Prior to becoming an ICA-certified colourist, he completed Rockport College’s intensive cinematographer’s residency.

Built by Light is part of Victory Social Club a multi-disciplinary production and design collective in Toronto.
